Today, in my community, I exercised my right to vote. It was a lovely thing. On the way out, I was thanked for “voting for us” and was bombarded with flyers for next month’s election. It took me a second to realize, but the republican representatives were not thanking me. It was the democrats. Why did they think they had my vote? Is it because I am a social worker? Was it the sweatpants and sneakers?
